4 reasons to wander in Mayfair at Christmas!

Christmas is truly magical in London, and the city’s festive spirit is always taken seriously. I recently explored the Christmas decorations in Mayfair and found so much to inspire a festive walk. Discover the surprises this area has to offer!

Today, DOYOUSPEAKLONDON invites you to Mayfair to fully soak up the Christmas vibes!

Christmas Wreaths

The tradition of wreaths has been going on for long, especially in England, inspiring many of us to adorn our doors during this festive season. It’s also a wonderful way to see London in a whole new light…

The wreaths come in all colours and styles, adorning doors or hanging, like this one above The Ritz.

There are plenty of other types of wreaths, and I’ve never seen such an adoration for this tradition as in London! Mayfair is definitely one of the most exemplary areas for door decorations… and the Christmas spirit brings out a real sense of creativity among its residents!

Inspired storefronts

Mayfair is renowned for its luxury stores, and this walk through the neighbourhood was the perfect opportunity to soak in the festive Christmas atmosphere.

Most of the places are quite discreet, surprisingly so. But some of them were particularly inspired by the winter season…

Some others show interest in mixing baubles and nature in a more extravagant way…

I felt more attracted by the delicate decoration of this brand…

Some storefronts are quite tempting, with the traditional hood of Father Christmas welcoming us right at the entrance!

Fortnum and Mason on Piccadilly Street is always a visual treat in December – its displays are whimsical and beautiful!

I really enjoy discovering the way they get inspired by Christmas, combining tradition and modernity.

Streets lights

London streets are filled with lights at Christmas and Mayfair is not the least to shine.

The streets are decorated with various designs that come to life in the night…

Bond Street is of course decorated at its best to celebrate Christmas…

South of Mayfair, the Arcades on Piccadilly Street are always stunning.

Again, the Ritz is always on top, when it comes to celebrating Christmas.

Mayfair highlights

Mayfair is not just for luxury shopping; it also boasts incredible museums like the Handel & Hendrix Museum and the Royal Academy of Arts, which also light up during the Christmas season, giving you an opportunity to combine Christmas spirit with cultural activity.

And not only. On this blog, I’ve had the chance to feature several Mayfair restaurants, including the unique Sketch, the unforgettable Galvin at Windows, and the exotic Gaucho for meat lovers…which are new ideas on how to spend more time in Mayfair and enjoy everything it has to offer. You could easily spend a day just in this London area!
