As this post will prove it, you can have good times in the warmth on a rooftop, even in winter! After two unsuccessful attempts (don’t even think about going there with no reservation), this time we booked a table for two at the Radio Rooftop Bar & Restaurant. And it couldn’t be better…
A cosy place near Trafalgar Square
The Radio Rooftop Restaurant is situated on the 10th floor of the ME London hotel, near Trafalgar Square. You can access the rooftop via a specific express lift from the ground floor of this hotel. The first impression when immersing this hotel was quite good: a cosy lounge bar and pleasant receptionists welcomed us before going up to the rooftop.
The restaurant offers stunning views across the river Thames and the London’s skyline. And despite the foggy day, we were speechless: I did not expect the view to be as exceptional.
London Eye, the Parliament, Big Ben… gradually emerged from the thick haze. It was magical!
Warm rooftop
We sat inside the restaurant, but given the outdoor heating and the many comfy blankets at disposal, we could have had our lunch on the terrace. But I needed some sun to be that brave!
I liked the inside as well, especially because we were completely alone at our arrival! The staff were very helpful and made our day.
Moët Mondays
We had been attracted by the restaurant’s offer, “Moët Mondays”: go on Mondays and enjoy two glasses of Moët Champagne served with pancetta wrapped stuffed dates and raspberry bass carpaccio for two people for £20. To my surprise, the dates combined with blue cheese had my preference. This was an experience as innovative as tasty!
Savoury lunch
We had not planned to stay for lunch, but we were convinced by another treat from the restaurant (specific to January): 50% off food this month!
We had delicious Devon Crab, Mussel & Clam Linguine with Chilli & Garlic…
And a memorable spicy Lobster Burger with fries. The ingredients were all very fresh and tasty, which makes the place highly recommendable.
Forget about Blue January: go to the Radio Rooftop and enjoy a comfy atmosphere with great food!

It reminds me of the so famous “Tour Montparnasse Restaurant” in Paris where the view on the Lights’ Town leave you speechless too; let’s try it some day!
It’s a good idea to go to the Radio Rooftop in winter. It’s far too crowded in summer.
I don’t know the place; I’ll keep it in mind for my next trip to Paris!
You’re right, that’s the price of success … !
