When it comes to choosing a restaurant where to enjoy a cosy atmosphere, good food, nice staff and easy booking, my husband and I have a good address in Chiswick: Annie’s.
It feels almost like home (my mum’s name is Annie – I have no doubt this might have influenced my interest for the place- and her cooking could have found inspiration right here) and we simply love it. Today, DOYOUSPEAKLONDON invits you to discover Annie’s, our little gem in West London…
Lovely riverside restaurant
I definitely love London, but sometimes I need to get away from the capital’s hustle and bustle and enjoy a quieter moment to recharge the batteries.
Where speaking to each other is (really) possible, where tables and seats are large enough to feel at ease … and where sipping a cocktail is a real treat to celebrate the end of the day!
Annie’s is located in Chiswick near the Thames (with no direct view on the river, though, which is the only downside of the place).
Nevertheless, the restaurant offers the possibility to eat outside, with a few tables set on a quaint street (just a stroll from the Thames if you fancy exploring the area before eating). With soft blankets and a glass of wine, you’ve got the right place to go to on a summer night!
Warm and eclectic decor
Annie’s is part of a group of 3 venues located in West London (including Rock & Rose and Little Bird). If you have followed my advice to try the Rock & Rose restaurant and enjoyed the opulent and quirky interior, you will love Annie’s.
Lots of vivid colours (with lots of pink), comfy seats (with fluffy cushions), numerous objects everywhere (including candles and flowers on each table).
The kind of warm/romantic atmosphere that could easily seduce people celebrating love (but not only them…).
Delicious modern european cuisine
We’ve come several times so far and always enjoyed our meals.
From shared platters to big plates, either on the menu or part of the specials, either with meat or fish, Annie’s always made it tasty and good looking.
For those mostly inspired by desserts, the offering is also extremely appealing. This chocolate fondant (below) was particularly amazing …
The service has always been exceptionally good, with a welcoming and helpful staff.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and found inspiration here. If you are planning to book a table at Annie’s soon, please share your experience and opinion on DOYOUSPEAKLONDON’s blog!
