What a better place to enjoy “Food, Passion & Glamour”, all at the same place? Go to the Rock & Rose restaurant, in Richmond! You can not be disappointed, believe me.
Passion & Style at the Rock & Rose restaurant
I had asked for “a romantic table” when booking, having the idea to celebrate an important anniversary. To be honest, I rather expected to be attributed a quiet table. And when we arrived, the waiter asked for us to wait “two seconds” and I did not really paid attention to his playful look. But when we reached the table, we could only be surprised and touched while giving a look at our table, dressed up with heart-shaped chocolates and rose petals. My first impression was to admire this well attention to details and clients’ expectations. My second was more selfish: I felt proud I had succeeded in surprising my man within the first minutes in the restaurant…
Fruity cocktails in unexpected glass!
We first looked at the wide range of tempting cocktails… Whether for their names or for their fruity combinations, it’s impossible not to succumb to them! We finally opted for one to share, with vanilla, red fruits and vodka. It surprisingly arrived in a big glass in the shape of a skull !
Delicate food with worldwide inspirations
The food was exquisite from the starters: either the “Salmon and Tuna sashimi” or “Walnut crusted goat cheese” looked and were tasty. I only wished the Asian plate would have been more consistent, maybe with larger slices to enjoy the flavours more deeply.
As main dishes, we chose a “Monkfish & Tiger Prawn Curry” that was accompanied with a delicious Coriander Naan & Jasmine Rice.
And an Asian-inspired recipe, the “Teriyaki Salmon” quite interesting with perfectly-cooked asian vegetables and a Pineapple Chilli Salsa.
A top-quality service
In addition to discovering a new, cosy and stylish place, we really enjoyed the staff and in particular the waitress in charge of us.
As it was a special day for us, she first brought us two complimentary cocktails. And because we had been waiting quite a long time for the main dishes (the restaurant was full and many birthdays were apparently celebrated at the same time), she offered some nibbles and was really attentive to us and well-managing us. That seemed to be a main characteristic there: we could really feel an overall sense of caring from the staff.
We really had great time at the Rock & Rose restaurant and I guess going out of central London is sometimes worth it…
