Luci: a taste of Italy in the heart of London!

Luci restaurant Covent Garden London Doyouspeaklondon Lifestyle London Blog

Some places instantly transport you abroad, and Luci is definitely one of them! From the warm welcome at the entrance to the irresistible Italian treats inside, you’ll find yourself wanting to come back every day.

Luci serves up mouthwatering, authentic Italian dishes. Whether you grab a quick bite from the takeaway on the ground floor or enjoy a full dining experience upstairs in the restaurant, you’ll love the experience!

Today, DOYOUSPEAKLONDON invites you to discover Luci and indulge in a delicious Italian feast!

Gourmet Italian food in Covent Garden

After spotting Luci on Instagram, my friend and I decided to check it out for lunch on a quiet Monday. Its location in Covent Garden couldn’t be more convenient: right in the heart of London, near Covent Garden!

While the streets buzz with energy, stepping into Luci feels like a little escape, offering great vibes and even better food. A true hidden gem!

Luci is designed with two distinct spaces: the Bancone (Italian for ‘counter’) on the ground floor for quick bites and takeaway, and a cosy restaurant upstairs for a relaxed dining experience. No matter the time of day, you’ll always find a warm welcome at Luci and, of course, something delicious to enjoy!

Delights from the ‘Bancone’

Inspired by the grand cafés of Milan, their stunning 18-metre marble ‘bancone’ counter is a true showstopper. It showcases an irresistible selection of freshly baked al forno delights.

Plus, with an open oven at the end of the counter, you can watch as pizzas and other treats are prepared right before your eyes!

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’re in for a treat. From Milanese cakes and classic tiramisu to homemade gelati and sorbetti, there’s something for everyone to love!

Amazing lunch at Luci’s restaurant

I instantly fell for the interior decor at Luci: the walls are all adorned with vibrant prints and mirrors, which creates an authentic, warm atmosphere.

When we arrived, the restaurant was quiet, giving us the chance to fully admire every detail of the space and enjoy the attention of the staff all to ourselves… such a lovely, rare treat!

Luci’s menu draws inspiration from northern Italy, particularly the historic charm of Verona, and their cuisine focuses on seasonal, authentic Italian ingredients.

We kicked things off with comforting mocktails and decided to order four starters to share, rather than going for mains.

Every dish was exceptional: the burrata with pumpkin (above) was simply divine, while the polenta (below) with gorgonzola and truffle (two bold flavours) was unexpectedly perfectly balanced and incredibly delicious.

The crispy artichoke (above) was a delightful surprise: light in flavour yet satisfyingly crispy with every bite. Such a unique and delicious treat!

The seabass carpaccio (below) was incredible: flavourful and fresh, with the addition of pomegranate creating a surprisingly perfect pairing!

Still curious and with a bit of room for dessert, we went for the most Italian classics…

As a huge tiramisu fan (and with my daughter’s amazing version as competition), this one was perfection! The photo doesn’t do it justice; the way it’s served adds a special touch you’ll need to experience for yourself!

The panna cotta was hands down the best I’ve ever had! Topped with an abundance of juicy red berries, a luscious syrup, and a perfectly light cream.

There’s so much more to explore at Luci, from breakfast to afternoon tea, and I can’t wait to come back and try both soon!

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you’re planning to visit Luci soon, I’d love to hear about your experience, feel free to share it on DOYOUSPEAKLONDON’s blog!

Le coeur d’artichaut est vraiment tentant !.Les murs colorés de toutes ces affiches donne une note de gaîeté à ce beau décor sobre . C’est un bel endroit
