I knew the front facade even before coming to Peggy Porschen, as this is one of the most Instagrammed places. Obviously I could not resist. And as I am always (who can doubt?!) keen on sharing good plans, I took my children there to taste the famous cakes! Which they enjoyed a lot, as well as the tiny parlour where the (mainly pink and white) pastel colors made all the outside greyness disappear…
Today, DOYOUSPEAKLONDON invits you to discover Peggy Porschen, the renowned cake designer in London.
The go-to cake parlour in Belgravia
Peggy Porschen is located in Belgravia (there is also another branch on King’s road, which I will get familiar with very soon) near Sloane Square, which makes it easy to pop-in whenever you are craving something sweet!
The Bakery was founded in 2003 and is headed by award-winning cake designer and author Peggy Porschen and her husband. Their talent for creating edibles that look like art has become renowned in London.
The boutique is open daily and offers cupcakes, layer cakes and coveted confections, as well as artisan teas and coffees (even a Laurent Perrier Champagne…What else?). All tastes are catered for!
A perfect day out with my children
We came on a Wednesday and were lucky enough to find a free table. The many flowers and the appealing decor of this tiny tearoom made this visit a unique experience.
The kids could not easily make their choices in front of this large mouth-watering selection of sweet delicacies !
Among the many cakes, they finally had a crush on a strawberry cupcake …
and a “Chocolate Heaven” cupcake …
Both of them were so delicious my children ate them in no time! And the best thing when eating such treats is when it tastes as good as it looks …
The ideal place for anyone with a sweet tooth
We really enjoyed the cakes at the Parlour and even came back home with macarons (our family treat!).
They were delicious: perfectly crisp on the outside with a smooth and soft ganache filling in the middle… We particularly appreciated the powerful fruity flavors.
The boutique offers a wide range of delicacies, but also many gifts and Peggy’s own range of professional baking equipments. Her books are also available, if you want to treat someone special …
Speaking of baking, Peggy Porschen started an Academy in 2011 “where like-minded bakers can come and learn Peggy’s tried and tested tips and secrets, or complete one of Peggy’s respected Diploma Courses”. Baking could be a rewarding vocation (especially for your loved ones!)…
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and found inspiration here. If you are planning a visit to Peggy Porschen, please share your experience and opinion here!
