What makes pumpkin week so special at Secretts Farm

Secretts Farm Halloween Pumpkin Patch Doyouspeaklondon Lifestyle London Blog

This is the thrilling week that all kids – and perhaps a few excited adults – have been eagerly anticipating for weeks! The Halloween festivities are finally here, bringing a plethora of fun activities to enjoy across London, as I highlighted in my previous post. One of the standout experiences is visiting a pumpkin patch, and Secretts Farm is sure to deliver an unforgettable adventure.

Today, DOYOUSPEAKLONDON invites you to join the celebration of Pumpkin Week at Secretts Farm, where a world of spoonable fun awaits!

Secretts Farm, award-winning farm in Surrey

Secretts Farm, an award-winning destination in Surrey since 1938, caught my attention online with its exciting Pumpkin Week event for Halloween. After the fantastic experience my family and I had at Cammas Farm a couple of years ago, I couldn’t wait to dive back into the fun!

But this farm is more than just a pumpkin patch. It features a charming shop filled with a diverse selection of artisan food and drink, proudly showcasing seasonal, home-grown fruits and vegetables.

Plus, it boasts one of Surrey’s largest cut-to-order cheese counters, with over 300 British and European cheeses, many sourced locally. You can bet the locals are thrilled to have such an incredible selection available all year round!

Although I’m not a local, I couldn’t resist visiting Secretts Farm for the pumpkin patch and all the delightful Halloween decorations I saw online.

I booked my tickets ahead of time, and after about an hour’s drive from London, we arrived bright and early to enjoy the festivities without the crowds.

Pumpkin Week is in full swing at Secretts Farm, running for eight days over the October half-term, from Saturday 19th to Wednesday 30th 2024. From finding the perfect pumpkin to savouring seasonal treats, there’s no shortage of spookable fun happening right now!

Visitors can explore a spooky, decorated walkway that leads straight to the pumpkin patch, setting the scene for family photos and Halloween fun.

Each day is packed with activities for everyone to enjoy – from a lively fancy dress competition and a pumpkin-themed menu full of seasonal flavours to countless fun experiences for all ages!

I loved the creative, spooky imagination behind the Halloween setups scattered along the way – from amusingly placed ‘dead bodies’ and giant, eerie spiders to playful, funny decorations.

There’s something for everyone here, and both kids and adults can enjoy the best of the Halloween spirit!

What might have been the most surprising – or even a bit unsettling – was just how much young kids enjoyed the creepy decorations. None of them seemed bothered by the skeletons or giant spiders around. They took it all in stride!

After enjoying the delightfully spooky decorations, we set out to find the pumpkins to carve and decorate.

Armed with handy wheelbarrows, we strolled through the fields in search of the perfect pumpkins to take home.

After just a few minutes, we had picked our pumpkins, paid based on their size, and headed home, feeling satisfied with our delightful discovery.

Secretts Farm: entertaining activities for kids

Just before leaving, we spotted a few more activities that any young kid would love: a merry-go-round, mini pedal tractor, glitter tattoos, a cake decorating workshop, and plenty of tasty Halloween-themed treats to eat and drink.

It’s definitely the perfect place to keep kids entertained during half term! It has been held every year for the past 15 years, so if you haven’t been yet, you’ll have the chance to discover it next year!
