Easter in London always brings a little extra magic, especially when the sun’s out and there’s a giant egg hunt to join!
While wandering around Battersea Power Station last week, I stumbled upon a bunch of oversized, colourfully decorated eggs. Turns out they’re part of The Big Egg Hunt, a fun and charitable initiative by Elephant Family that beautifully blends creativity with a great cause.
This week on DOYOUSPEAKLONDON, I’m taking you on an egg-citing walk through Battersea Power Station. Come see what I found!

The Big Egg Hunt is coming back to London!
This spring, London is being sprinkled with giant, beautifully decorated eggs as part of The Big Egg Hunt by Elephant Family. From 24 March to 27 April 2025, the event is open to all, transforming London’s iconic landmarks into a vibrant trail of creativity, all in support of wildlife conservation efforts in South Asia.

The Big Egg Hunt fills London with over 200 giant, artist-designed eggs! Each egg is a one-of-a-kind creation by renowned artists, designers, and celebrities, turning the hunt into both an art trail and a fun challenge.

This year, I had the chance to participate in this egg hunt in one of my favourite areas of London: the iconic Battersea Power Station.
A creative trail through Battersea Power Station
I’ve shared my interest for this area in a previous post. The architecture around Battersea Power Station is simply stunning (perfect for photos!) and the views from Lift 109 are absolutely breathtaking. If you don’t know the area, it’s a great occasion to explore it!

I could only appreciate the extra colour and creativity this Egg hunt added to the newly redeveloped Battersea Power Station area. I was genuinely impressed by the variety, and loved how effortlessly the eggs complemented the bold architecture of the area.

There are 21 eggs to discover around Battersea Power Station, and if you manage to spot them all, there’s even a little chocolate reward waiting for you at the end!

A fun day out that gives back
Besides being a family-friendly adventure (or a quirky solo walk like I experienced it), the event is also a fundraiser. Once the trail ends, the eggs will be auctioned off to raise funds for Elephant Family’s mission to protect endangered species and their habitats.

You can think of this event as an open-air gallery that’s free to explore … and at the same time it’s art with a purpose! It finally gives you a fabulous excuse to get outside and see London in a totally new light.

Craving more? Or maybe want to explore a different area? You’ll find these colourful eggs popping up at iconic spots like Covent Garden, Chelsea, Canary Wharf, the British Museum, and many more around London. A free app will guide you through the trail and let you “collect” the eggs along the way.

I hope you’ve enjoyed learning about the 2025 giant egg hunt throughout London, and especially at Battersea Power Station. If you’re planning to visit soon, I’d love to hear all about your adventure on DOYOUSPEAKLONDON!

Joyeuses Pâques !
Nice artwork. What are the famous artists on display ? One egg looks like Keith Haring style.
@Myriam Yes I had seen them as well. These eggs are so aesthetic and fun to find!
@Clementine You will find the list of eggs and artists here: https://uk.emma-live.com/TheBigEggHunt/list_silent_lots. Enjoy!
