Looking for a spot with amazing food and a relaxed vibe? For my birthday, a wonderful group of ladies gifted me a voucher to Harwood Arms. I got to share the experience with my husband, and wow, it absolutely lived up to the hype!
We had an amazing time, with each dish delivering bold flavours and creative twists, and I can’t wait to share it all with you!
Today, DOYOUSPEAKLONDON takes food lovers to Fulham for a one-of-a-kind gastropub experience!

Harwood Arms: London’s only Michelin-starred pub

I first heard about The Harwood Arms from a friend who visited a few months ago. She spoke so highly of her experience that it piqued my curiosity.

We made our way to Fulham, a neighborhood I truly discovered last summer while visiting Fulham Palace, and were surprised to find the pub tucked away in a quiet residential area.

What truly sets The Harwood Arms apart is its combination of award-winning food and wine with a casual, relaxed atmosphere. The moment you step inside, you feel instantly comfortable and at ease.
Harwood Arms: award-winning food and wine

We were promptly greeted by the staff and served bread and butter while our dishes were being prepared. As we enjoyed an excellent red wine, we savoured a selection of dishes, sharing plates along the way.

The Warm Blue Cheese Tart (above), with hints of apple, celery, and pickled walnuts, arrived – and just like that, we were swept up in the magic of this Michelin-starred spot! It was subtle and delicious!

The second starter (though not the easiest to photograph!) was seriously delicious: a rich chestnut soup packed with deep, earthy flavours of mushroom and tarragon with a wild boar sausage roll. Honestly, I would have enjoyed it just as much without the sausage roll – the soup was so flavourful on its own!

For our mains, we had Wareham Dorset Sika Deer (above) with beetroots, red leaves, and bone marrow. The meat was beautifully tender with a delicate flavour, and the sides added a unique twist. The beetroot and rhubarb pairing was unexpected but boldly exquisite! (I have to admit, I skipped the bone marrow – sorry!).

The second dish was the short rib of Red Ruby beef (above), served with Jerusalem artichoke, stout, and oyster. Richer and more indulgent than the first, yet still packed with flavour, it was a hit. We especially loved the unique way the artichoke was prepared!

At this point, we were feeling full, so we shared a dessert: fig leaf ice cream with cinnamon doughnuts and caramelised goat’s milk. What a treat! I’m not usually a doughnut fan, but given the place I had to try – and I loved it! So soft, light, and perfectly sweet, it felt like discovering doughnuts for the first time! We ended up with a discretionary toffee treat.

We sat in the main room by the bar, but there’s also a side room with a skylight and large tables – it looked like a great spot too! The best way to get a table is to book online in advance. As for the prices, we found them reasonable given the quality of the food and the Michelin star.
I had an amazing time at The Harwood Arms, and I’m so grateful to my wonderful friends for treating me to this incredible meal at London’s only Michelin-starred pub!
