The Lookout London: stunning skyline views from above

The Lookout viewing platform in the city of London Doyouspeaklondon Lifestyle London Blog

As a true viewing platform enthusiast, I couldn’t wait to experience The Lookout! I just waited for the perfect moment – a full blue-sky day in London! – to make my visit extra special.

Perched on the 50th floor of a sleek skyscraper in The City of London, The Lookout offers incredible height and perspective, allowing you to take in breathtaking views of the skyline, iconic landmarks, and the city’s endless charm.

Today, DOYOUSPEAKLONDON invites you to explore The Lookout, a stunning viewing gallery on the 50th floor of 8 Bishopsgate!

The Lookout London: 50th floor viewing platform

8 Bishopsgate is a 51-story, 204-meter (669 ft) skyscraper right in the heart of London’s financial district, The City. Opened recently (in 2023), it became the 11th-tallest building in London, adding a sleek, modern touch to the city’s iconic skyline.

From the beginning, it featured a free viewing platform, The Lookout, on the 50th floor.

This is a fantastic opportunity for both Londoners and tourists to experience breathtaking views from such heights and admire the city! It’s similar to other iconic spots like 22 Horizon, Sky Garden, and Garden at 120, which I’ve also covered in this blog. All of them offer amazing views of the capital.

Visiting the viewing gallery is super easy! Just grab your free ticket online and head over to Liverpool Street station, which is one of the closest tube stations to the venue (details below).

The Lookout London: breathtaking views of the London Skyline

I visited The Lookout to take in some of the most stunning panoramic views of London and it did not disappoint.

You’ll get 180° views of London’s landmarks, including St Paul’s Cathedral, The Shard, Tower of London, and even Canary Wharf (if you manage to squeeze your head in and dodge the reflections!).

On a sunny day like the one I visited, it’s absolutely perfect (though avoiding those reflections can be a bit tricky…).

The Lookout London: lively vibes inside!

When I visited The Lookout, I was absolutely mesmerised by both the stunning exterior and the captivating interior views!

People taking selfies, curious onlookers gazing at the streets below, trying to spot familiar buildings, and young kids running around with excitement…

The atmosphere is buzzing with life, offering endless inspiration for a photography enthusiast like me!

I thoroughly enjoyed watching people move across the platform, all captivated by the stunning views. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in the energy of the capital, this could be the perfect spot to visit!
